Questions answered
Frequently asked questions.
Plain answers to the questions South Georgia seniors ask most about enrollment, benefits, and getting local help.
When can I enroll in Medicare?
Most people enroll during their Initial Enrollment Period (IEP), the 7-month window that starts 3 months before the month you turn 65, includes your birth month, and ends 3 months after. You can also make changes during the Annual Enrollment Period (Oct 15 – Dec 7) each year.
What's the difference between Medicare Advantage and a Supplement?
Medicare Advantage (Part C) bundles your hospital and medical coverage through a private insurer and often adds extras like dental, vision, hearing, and drug coverage. A Medicare Supplement (Medigap) works alongside Original Medicare and helps pay the out-of-pocket costs (like the 20% Part B coinsurance) that Original Medicare doesn't cover.
Will I lose my doctor if I change plans?
Not necessarily. Medicare Advantage plans use provider networks, so it's important to check that your doctors, specialists, and hospitals are in-network before you enroll. I'll help you confirm your providers are covered under any plan we compare.
Are my prescriptions covered?
Each plan has its own formulary (list of covered drugs) organized into tiers. We'll review your specific medications, the tier they fall under, and your costs at your preferred pharmacy before recommending a plan.
Can I get help if I'm on Medicaid or have low income?
Yes. You may qualify for Extra Help (LIS) with prescription drug costs, or a Dual-eligible Special Needs Plan (D-SNP) if you have both Medicare and Medicaid. I also help with Medicaid applications and renewals through the Help Place at no cost.
What does it cost to work with you?
There is no cost to you for my help. As an independent, licensed agent I'm compensated by the insurance carriers — not by you. You'll never be charged for plan comparisons, enrollment help, or yearly reviews.
Do I have to come to an office?
No. I serve South Georgia in person — at your kitchen table, a local spot, or wherever is convenient — and I also help people by phone across Georgia, Florida, and South Carolina. You choose what's comfortable.
Will you still be around after I enroll?
Yes. I'm local, licensed, and here to stay. You'll reach the same person before and after enrollment for questions, claims help, and yearly reviews — not a call center.
Still have a question?
There are no silly questions. Call a local professional who is happy to help.
